The illustration by Thomas Grey Studholme is a personal collaboration that is very close to my heart. Thomas is one of my childhood friends that I grew up with at a very young age (my mom used to babysit him and his twin brothers Nick and Ben). We're talking single digits.
I have always admired and looked up to Thomas as an artist at a very young age, I could even say he was one of the first people that inspired me in the arts with his comic book art.
When he gave me the illustration I immediately wanted to play off the duality of Hall and Oates as individuals and as the most successful duo in rock music. With that in mind I decided to make a poster that can be displayed featuring either artist depending on who may be your favorite but also shows the unity and cohesiveness of them together. Each color field also has a repeating pattern.
I am very happy to have had this opportunity to share the page with my very dear friend/family member Thomas on this collaboration...especially since I love Hall & Oates as well. I CAN go for that!
